In the past year the Pakistani military forces have fired more than 5,000 missiles on Afghan soil displacing more than 2,500 families. Reports indicate that up to 9,000 armed insurgents are operating in areas near the Pakistani military check posts. In addition to Sarkano, Marwara district has also been affected by the Pakistani missiles.
The missile attacks have continued despite the Afghan government's continuous demands from the Pakistani government to tackle the issue. This is while the Pakistani military maintains that the Afghan government provides shelters to the Taliban in these areas.
